On the Humantay Lagoon Full Day tour, you’ll get to know the famous Humantay Lagoon, which takes its name from the nearby snow-capped mountain (Humantay, 5,473 m) and is considered one of the most beautiful and sacred lagoons in Cusco.

To start, your professional tour guide pick you up in your hotel  between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Next, we’ll head for about 2 hours driving to Mollepata town and have a breakfast, get water and snacks for the trek.

After breakfast, drive one hour more to Soraypampa. Once you arrive at this high mountain plateau, admire the beautiful mountains Apu Salkantay (6,230 m.a.s.l.) and Humantay (5,250 m.a.s.l.).

In Soraypampa, Take a short time preparing your day pack and start the 2-hour trek to Humantay Lake. The way up  is steep however your group is small and your guide will let you take your time to enjoy the trek. 

Upon your arrival to Humantay Lake, enjoy this fantastic landscape taking unforgettable pictures. Optional  a short climb to the left or right side of the mountainwhere you can enjoy a panoramic view. 

Next, walk the easy part of your trek. Go downhill for 1 hour to Soraypampa to take the transportation and set offt to Mollepata where you will enjoy a restorative buffet lunch.

After the lunch, go back to Cusco arriving between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. 

This experience ends near the the Main Square of Cusco city.

Know before you go
  • Depending on the option you choose, hotel pick-up may or may not be included. It can take 30 to 45 minutes to pick up the entire group. If you're among the first, please note it may take some time to gather everyone.
  • You will need to climb 1.8 miles (3km) to reach the top of Humantay Lake; all participants should be in relatively good physical condition
  • Bring an extra warm sweater, jacket, hat, and gloves as the first few hours of the hike will be very cold.
  • If for any reason you need to rent horse, please know that such us provider activity we dont not manage these rentals and will not be involved in the process
