Enjoy a tour through Lima’s three historical periods: Ancient, Colonial, and Modern.
Begin with a panoramic view of the Pyramid of Pucllana, an ancient ceremonial and archaeological site built in the 4th century AD and considered sacred by the Incas.
Next, head to Lima’s Historic Center. There, we’ll see what was once the old Plaza de Lima and admire more than fifty colonial monuments and buildings, including the Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the Cathedral Basilica, among others. Continuing the tour, visiting the Central Reserve Museum, where we’ll see the Treasures of Peru Collection, which includes ceramics, gold objects, and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures.
Visit the San Francisco Monumental Complex, which houses the largest collection of colonial religious art in the Americas. Its main attraction is the visit to its underground crypts, known as the Catacombs. Finally, head to Lima’s Contemporary Zone, where you can admire the city’s main buildings and residential areas, including El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores, Larcomar, and the Love Park.
Note: The Central Reserve Bank Museum is closed to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, and closed all day on Mondays.
